With the solar power plant (SPP) installed on the roof of its factory in Çayırova, Kocaeli, Anadolu Motor will meet 40 percent of the facility's annual electricity needs while preventing an average of 360 tons of carbon emissions annually.
40% of the factory's annual electricity demand will be met
Anadolu Motor, an Anadolu Group company operating under the automotive umbrella, continues to make a difference with its investments in sustainability. The company recently installed a 709.59 kWp rooftop solar power plant (SPP) on the roof of its factory in Çayırova, Kocaeli, which will generate 825 MWh of electricity annually and meet 40% of the facility's annual electricity needs. With this green energy equivalent to the electricity consumption of 270 households, Anadolu Motor will prevent approximately 360 tons/year of carbon emissions.
"An important step towards low carbon transition"
Making a statement on the subject, Anadolu Motor General Manager Yutkun Tok said, "In order to get rid of the devastating effects of the climate crisis and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by half by 2030, it is necessary to transform energy, that is, to make the use of renewable energy widespread. For this reason, as Anadolu Motor, we are seizing opportunities to support our transition to a low-carbon economy. We see our solar power plant investment, which will meet approximately 40% of our factory's annual electricity need and prevent an average of 360 tons of carbon emissions annually, as an important step towards the transition to low carbon. In the future, we will continue to evaluate all opportunities that will support Anadolu Motor's transition to low carbon within the scope of our sustainability strategy."
